Our Weekend, and a Baby!

"Mummy, you still have my baby in your belly?"-Molly
"Yep, the baby's growing and growing in there" -Me
"Oh good, mummy, I love my baby- and you love my baby too!" -Molly
"I do, Molly, just like I love you." -Me
"And that's why your belly's sooo big (sticks her belly out as far as she can)"- Molly

I'm going to start with the really good stuff- the baby.   From the very beginning, the baby has been "our baby"- Mommy, Daddy and Molly's baby- but lately, Molly insists the baby is "my baby".   I'm holding strong at 15.5 weeks, and really the most reason I haven't shared the news on here is because I've been overtaken by morning sickness.   Except mine lasts all day.  And the computer, tv, my phone- they make me more sick.  I think it's the movement?  Ugh, it's been a struggle, but a beautiful one.  Because we're turning our sweet Molly into a big sister!   She's so excited.  I hear her calling her babies "baby broder" a lot lately, and reminding them that she's their "big sisder"!  It's just so much more fun this time around, because we're growing a big sister, too!  Thankfully, the sickness is becoming more bearable, and I'm praying in the next couple of weeks, I'll be feeling even better!

We've been keeping as busy as possible lately, since Daddy's been planting corn like a crazy man, and is barely home.  We made it a point to visit him for a picnic lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and of course, we had to stay and "help" with some chores.

But we were able to pull Daddy away for a perfect first year fire with friends!  We roasted mountain pies, hot dogs and enjoyed each other's company.  I love warm days and nights.  Molly was jumping and yelling about her "fire party" all day.  I couldn't stop laughing at the picture of the kids in the wagon- it's just so classic.  My sister's boys are so well behaved and have such great manners- looking right at me with a grin.  And Molly?!  Oh checking out the baby, just to make sure she's alright.  It's the big sister instinct, I tell you, kicking right in.  She loved the outdoor gathering, and we can't wait to have lots more!

So that's it for now, anyway.  I'm not much for belly pictures, but I'll try to document some of this pregnancy, I really don't want to forget it.  That's once I'm feeling even better- and once I can find some clothes to fit around this growing bump!  I will link a post I wrote at 7 weeks, because it's amazingly accurate and just so funny.

Have a great week :)

Happy Mother's Day

I'm always emotional on Mother's Day, because I just cannot believe the amount a small child can transform your life.  My life.  This girl has given me so many gifts, and I thank God everyday for giving me the chance to raise her, love her, enjoy her.  She's full of life and spirit, has more bravery than I ever imagined, and loves so big.  She's the sweetest little girl, and I'm thankful for my Molly, my forever daughter and friend.  I'm so, so glad to be your "Mummy", Molly!

Just for fun, here's a look back at our first daffodil blooms every year with Molly- why does time go so fast?!

Spring 2012, our first spring in our home, our first spring with our little Molly :)

Spring 2013, Molly's mobile!  I remember this photo taking almost 30 minutes- she wouldn't sit still! I forget that toothless little smile sometimes ;)

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful Mom's and Mom-to-be's in my life!

Our Water Park Weekend

I'm so behind in photos!  And honestly, this whole spring is behind.  It's still barely 50 degrees in PA, we're only seeing the first flowers bloom and trees blossom, yet we're desperate to get outside.  Cabin fever to the max over here, seriously.  So why I'm behind in photos and blogging, I'll never know?

We had the best weekend, well it was last weekend, but it was so great.  We met some friends in the Poconos at The Great Wolf Lodge- a super child friendly resort and indoor water park (ideal from ages 2-8, in my opinion).  It was only three days, but we enjoyed it so, so much.  I don't think these pictures can do it justice.  We seriously had the best time.  In fact, I spent almost 2 of the 3 hour drive home in tears, honestly.  My husband thinks I'm losing it.  But I miss my friends, and and I miss warm weather, and I needed a break from work.  So it was a perfect getaway, and I was so sad to see it end.

Molly was brave as ever, and so determined to make as many trips down the slides as her little body could handle.  I tried to catch her smiles, but mostly, that girl had a look of determination.  Running from slide to slide.  And she was so happy to have her buddy, Jamie, alongside her.   I couldn't leave out the behind shot of that little girl and her Daddy, either- seriously, those little cheeks?!  My heart!

This was our first time meeting little Joely, my friend's youngest.  And we loved having her around, those extra snuggles are always appreciated here!  How sweet is that girl?  And so happy, all the time.

The Great Wolf Lodge has lots of characters around the resort, and Molly was pretty hesitant most of the time.  But I caught her loving the wolf on the last day, as we awaited the opening of the water park.  She waved and stared, until he came out to see her- then she ran and hid behind me.   Some things can't be forced, we'll try him again next time ;)

I'm still missing those days of freedom, laughs and fun in the best of company.  But the memories are so worth it, even if a few tears arise when I'm looking through these photos!

We're looking forward to 60 degree temps this week, maybe I'll get back to regular blogging again then?!
