Meeting Baby Ethan

Alright, I feel it is my duty to warn you:  if you don't have baby fever currently, you may after this post.  I find myself looking then looking again that this sweet face.

Ahhh, seriously, my heart.  He's just so sweet.  But he's two whole hours away, and I can't stand it.  Molly is always saying "that's my baby efan, mummy!"  And I have to correct her.  Because, unfortunately, he's not ours ;)  But we're anxiously awaiting our next trip to see him.  And hold him. And kiss him.

So thankfully, I hail from a family of baby-lovers.  We're all guilty of being baby-hogs (I tend to take the top prize for this title), and none of us resist a chance at watching a birth.  Which is why both of my sisters and my Mom joined my husband and I (along with the entire medical team) in Molly's delivery.  And why I watched and prayed as my nephew was born via cesarean section.  And also why my Mom and I prayed, cheered and cried as Ethan made his way into this world and took his first breath!  I'm not sure why, but we're just baby people.  It could, honestly, be the Miracle of Life VHS forced upon us in elementary school by our Mother, who regularly insisted "it only takes one time, and you'll be pregnant" - from the time I was 6 years old.  I'm not even kidding.  Later, after my sister was trying to get pregnant with one of her sons, I remember her arguing with my Mom that she was wrong.  Sometimes, it takes more than one time.

Either way, I'll let you decide who loved meeting this baby most.  Because I think each one of these people was just thrilled.

And just in case you needed a reminder.  This little boy is a redhead, just like his Momma ;)

Oh baby Ethan,
we're so glad you're here.
We love you more than you know!
xoxo

Baby Ethan: A Birth Story

Baby Ethan has arrived!  This is about to be a long post, lacking words, because the emotions of the day left most of us without any words at all, but with more love than we knew possible!
